Time for our very first Mopinion Employee in the Spotlight of 2020! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this blog series, the Employee in the Spotlight is a monthly publication that individually highlights the Mopinion team members. Why do we do this? We want to give our audience a taste of Mopinion culture and show you the faces behind our software, and well, just because we think it’s fun! This month we’d like to highlight a new(er) member of the development team Aruna Sripriya Konijeti.
Meet Aruna. With just six months under her belt here at Mopinion, Aruna is our hardworking and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer. She’s responsible for setting up the software infrastructure, automating manual processes and making sure our software is operating efficiently. Despite having just moved here from India a year ago, Aruna has quickly found her way around here in the Netherlands and fits in perfectly with the team here at Mopinion!
But we wanted to know more, so we sat down with Aruna to get to know her a bit better and see how she’s experienced working at Mopinion so far. Here’s what she had to say…
What does your position at Mopinion entail?
‘As a DevOps Engineer I’m responsible for setting up our infrastructure, that means maintaining, managing and administering the infrastructure and the cloud resources. I also automate manual processes such as deployments, testing and publishing. And creating new and efficient processes is also part of my job.’
What initially drew you to Mopinion?
‘Last year I moved from India to the Netherlands with my husband. And I was very excited when I saw a post on LinkedIn for a DevOps Engineer at Mopinion. Of course I did some research about Mopinion on social media and it really caught my attention. For me a job is not only a way to earn money, although I really like that too. But when I work for many hours and put a lot of energy and effort into my job, I want to feel good about the company I work for.’
I feel so proud to be part of helping this company continue to grow.’
What does a typical work day look like for you?
‘Usually I start my day by checking my emails. Then I work one-by-one on tickets that are assigned to me. My work is a lot about learning new tools and technologies, doing research and implementing them within the company. It is really a mix of DevOps and cloud activities. So every day is different. It’s a constant adventure and I really enjoy that.’
What is your favorite part about working at Mopinion?
‘The collaborative environment! I love that there is a certain degree of control, but also a great degree of freedom within my job. I work full-time on a flexible schedule, both in and out of the office. This balance between work and private works well for me.’
‘I also love the people I work with. Mopinion has a positive culture and I feel motivated and inspired at work by my colleagues. And of course I love Bobby, our office dog. It’s almost like having my own pet,’ she laughs.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?
‘Nothing so far…’
What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?
‘When I setup CI/CD (Continuous integration/Continuous delivery) for our deployment. This new setup helps our developers see if their changes in code were reflected properly, enabling them to make decisions to further their progress. It will also help leverage new ideas for our use cases.’

What do you like to do in your free time?
‘I enjoy making Best out of Waste’ crafts (a craft which follows environmentally friendly principles and at the same time creates useful and picturesque objects out of waste products).’
‘I also really like canvas painting and travelling.’
What is your guilty pleasure?
‘Probably Listening to 70’s melodies and eating junk food late at night!’
What is one thing you can’t live without?
‘My Family.’
Who is your favorite superhero?
‘My father.’
Who inspires you?
‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was a very knowledgeable and experienced Indian scientist and politician who was a great source of inspiration for young people. As a citizen of India, I have great respect for him and I believe that his work will inspire and motivate young people in India for decades.
I am also very inspired by my husband. His dedication towards his work is very admirable.’
What is your biggest fear?
‘Natural Calamities (like earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes)’

What is something that not many people know about you?
‘I participated in an intercollege championship in various sports such as volleyball, high jumping, etc.
I also received the C certificate NCC (National Cadet Corp) back in India.’
Where do you see yourself in five years?
‘I hope to be a Devops Architect by then!’
