Meet Josephien. Although she’s one of our newest team members, it feels like she’s been working here for years. Josephien is Mopinion’s Office Manager. She’s the friendly face that makes everyone feel welcome here at the office. But when she’s not working hard to make sure the office runs smoothly, she’s probably cooking up a delicious meal or at the gym (mind you, only when it’s good weather!).
Let’s dive in and see how Josephien has experienced working at Mopinion thus far.
Working at Mopinion
What does your position at Mopinion entail?
As Office Manager, I am responsible for all office-related activities such as keeping up supplies and making sure the employees have what they need. I also do some HR support in addition to my primary tasks.
What initially drew you to Mopinion?
“I really like the informal vibe. In fact, this was something I already noticed during my interview. The people here are really easy to talk to and make you feel right at home.”
What does a typical work day look like for you?
First thing Josephien does when she comes in is start up her computer and turn on the radio.
“I am not one of those people that can work in silence so I almost immediately turn on the radio when I come in for a little background noise,” she laughs.
Then she checks to see if there are any requests or questions from team members that she can help out with, before running through her daily office task list.
What is your favourite part about working at Mopinion?
“Definitely the colleagues and the vibe. I also really love planning our team outings. Right now I’m setting up our next Social Jam with a local children’s hospital. That’s a particularly nice assignment because it’s really meaningful to those kids.”
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?
“I’d say the HR aspect of my job. There’s definitely a lot to learn in that area.”
What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?
“On my first day at Mopinion, the office holiday party* was in full swing so I had to jump right in and help out with the party preparations. I didn’t know anyone really well but I felt like I contributed a lot for having just started.”
*The holiday parties at Mopinion are getting bigger and bigger every year so the planning process is no easy task. We’re proud of Josephien for stepping up to the plate and helping us out!

What do you like to do in your free time?
“I like to go to the gym but I’m a fair-weather gym go-er,” she laughs. “It’s really hard to get myself to go in the winter months but once the sun shines I have all this motivation and love heading to the gym for fitness and boxing.”
She also loves cooking and travelling. This year she’s headed to Greece and Curacao!
Who inspires you?
“My mother. She is a really strong woman, in everything that she does. I’m really proud of her.”
What is one thing you can’t live without?
“My phone! Hahaha”

“I really want to have bought a house and have a few kids!”

“Definitely mice! I am terrified of them. Really anything that moves.”
