It’s time for our April Employee in the Spotlight! The Employee Spotlight series is Mopinion’s special way of giving you an inside look at the people behind our brand. Last month we highlighted a member of our Customer Success team, Guus. This month we’re switching gears as we put one of the newest members of our Sales team in the spotlight, Fanny.
Meet Fanny. One of our newer team members, Fanny started working at Mopinion just one year ago as our Digital User Feedback Specialist for the French market. She’s primarily responsible for bringing in French business as well as other international organisations. However, when she’s not in the office, she spends a lot of her time teaching yoga, hanging out with her family and cycling across the Netherlands.
Here’s her story…
What does your position at Mopinion entail?
‘I was initially hired by Mopinion to manage and expand our footprint within the French market. This included reaching out to all incoming French trials and holding product demos for them. However, with the recent influx in incoming trials, I am also taking on more international prospects and customers across the world.’
What initially drew you to Mopinion?
‘I really like the environment at Mopinion in general.’
It has a true startup vibe, where you don’t have to report everything you do to your manager. The most important thing is that you get results and help contribute to the growth of the company. I was also really attracted to the fact that the team is very international, with colleagues from various different countries and different cultural backgrounds. Being a “foreigner” in Holland myself, this was a very comforting attribute.
What does a typical work day look like for you?
‘My work is quite varied, so every day is different. But typically I come in, run through my emails, touch base with customers and follow up on their requests, and come up with a day planning with my tasks in Salesforce. Then I am either reaching out to prospects, holding product demos and sometimes even doing translations! The variety definitely keeps things fresh.’
What is your favorite part about working at Mopinion?
‘The atmosphere is great. It’s a laid back and flexible company (e.g. we can work from home when needed) and the international aspect really makes working at Mopinion a lot of fun! From a product standpoint, I also really believe online feedback software has a good future, especially as we see more companies digitise their processes and that I am selling a software that companies really need.’
‘And of course, there’s Bobby, the office dog.’
You know when you see Bobby come in the office in the morning it’s going to be a good day!
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?
‘Cold-calling in the beginning was difficult for me at first. I found it tricky to convince someone to try a product within just a minute or two on the phone. Mopinion’s software is also quite intricate so learning all of the ins and outs of the product (also from a technical standpoint) has proven to be a big challenge.’
What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?
‘I can’t say I have one at the moment but I know there’s one on the horizon! I am hoping to close a deal with two major French organisations in the coming months!’

What are 3 words you would use to describe yourself?
‘Self-motivated, open to change and adaptable’
What is your guilty pleasure?
‘Cheese.’
Not surprising, I suppose, considering the average French person consumes 57 pounds of cheese per year!
Who inspires you?
‘I don’t have one person in particular, but I am really inspired by people who do something that is meaningful to them or people who really stick to their beliefs – whatever that may be.’
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Yoga. I teach 3 classes a week here in Rotterdam and I love it. I also love to cycle across the country and spend most of my time with my family.
If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
“Banana Pancakes” – Jack Johnson
‘I love lazy mornings and banana pancakes and of course, Jack Johnson’s voice.’
What is your favorite movie?
‘Dirty Dancing’, just can’t help it!
What is something that not many people know about you?
She laughs, ‘My cats O’mee and Mao have an Instagram account together’
