New Release Pack: Targeting Feedback Forms Made Even Easier

Every interaction with your customers is an opportunity to gather valuable feedback. However, it is vital to ask for feedback from the right person at the exact right time. Too soon and your customers won’t have any feedback to give yet. Too late, and they won’t bother giving it. On top of that you don’t want to distract your visitors (too much) in reaching their goals. Setting this up is no frivolous task. That’s why as of today putting your feedback forms online with Mopinion is easier and more extensive than ever.

At Mopinion we strongly believe in facilitating you with the right instruments to cater any of your feedback use cases. That’s the reason why we have added multiple new ways to publish a feedback form, on top of the existing triggers and conditions. This means you get even more control over when and where your feedback forms appear, making it possible to meet any use case your business needs.

So, what’s new?

In this post, you’ll get a breakdown of the newly added options and improvements in Mopinion’s deployment section*, so you can offer the most seamless feedback collection experience.

*The deployment section in our software is the place where you publish your feedback forms and set or adjust the conditions and triggers to show your forms at the right moment to the right audience.

Before we dive in the details, here’s a quick rundown of all the changes and new functionalities, organized by category. Feel free to click the links to go directly to the part of the blog that interests you the most:

Let’s go a bit deeper and check the full details now.

More triggers, more conditions

Added ‘Matches Exactly’ Operator to URL Conditions

More precise URL targeting is now available! You can now use the ‘Matches Exactly’ operator for your URL conditions, allowing you to show your feedback form(s) only on very specific pages.

For example; if you want your feedback form to pop up on your checkout page ‘/checkout’, but not on the next step /checkout/payment, you can now set the URL condition to match exactly ‘/checkout’, excluding the payment page.

Show feedback form on exact urls

Advanced bulk conditions for HTML elements, cookies, and JS variables

If you’re working with large datasets or lots of (customer) IDs, we’ve got you covered too. You can now make large bulk changes in HTML elements, Cookies, or JS Vars. This means you don’t have to create single line conditions, but process them in just one spot.

Plus, you can paste in comma-separated lists (CSV) to show your feedback forms to a specific group of customers, for example by adding a list of (customer) IDs.

New ‘interaction-based’ conditions

You might want to create a feedback flow, where certain feedback forms are only shown or hidden when feedback is already given through another form on your website. With these newly added conditions, you can further enhance your feedback collection strategy.

You can set the conditions based on user interaction with other feedback forms, when a feedback form is Shown, Closed or Completed.

Trigger a feedback form after an other form interaction

New ‘page interaction’ conditions

Additionally, you can now also set conditions based on whether a specific button (or a part of your page) has been clicked, hovered, or interacted with.

For example: your page has a ‘more info’ button that will show a pop up with more information about a product. After a visitor clicks on ‘close pop-up’ you can now show a feedback form based on that click, asking if the information was valuable or not.

Save and reuse condition sets

Did you create a large condition set to show your feedback form at the perfect time, with many detailed triggers and conditions, such as many URL filters? And now you want to use that set somewhere else too? We got you covered.

Keep your form publication process efficient by saving and reusing condition sets. Just click ‘Add New Condition Set’ to use saved conditions across different feedback forms and even other deployments.

Duplicate a deployment

You want to test your feedback forms and deployments thoroughly first, before putting them live. There are plenty of unique options to do so. The Mopinion exclusive Deployment Assistant and Deployment Versioning are the perfect companions to fully test your feedback forms before publication.

You also might want to create a test deployment for your test environment. What you don’t want to do, is manually recreating all the settings of your test deployment.

UX and UI improvements

Find your deployment and your feedback forms faster

When you work with more deployments (for example when you manage multiple websites or a website with different languages) it can be tricky to quickly find the stuff you want to work in.

By adding a new filter sidebar on the page where you see all your deployments, it is now easier to find the deployment you need. You can search and filter on:

  • Search bar
  • Forms in deployment
  • Last published date
  • Status
  • Channel

New filter bar on the deployment overview

New filter in deployment editor

Just like with the deployment overview, when working with multiple feedback forms in your deployment, you want to find your needed form fast.

The new form filter sidebar next to your deployment will make it easier to find specific forms. You can filter by:

  • Search by name
  • The way the form is activated (by button, proactive, exit intent)
  • Status of the condition sets of the feedback form (paused or active)

Expand / collapse all button

Want to keep things tidy? A new expand/collapse all button was added in the deployment editor. You can quickly open or close all forms, conditions, and extra information in your deployment.

Show paused status and trigger information

In the collapsed view, you can directly see if a form is paused, its trigger, and the number of additional conditions. This gives you a quick overview while keeping things clean.

Improved form add/edit Flow

Adding a feedback form to your deployment to publish it on your website or in your app is now simpler than ever. When you click ‘+ Add Form,’ a side panel opens, giving you more space to work. It also gives a clearer context for the conditions you’re setting. You can select a form through a smart autocomplete feature, which allows you to search by multiple criteria (for example the type of form or the name of the report the form is in).

Better explanation of triggers

The way your form triggers are displayed is improved, offering more space for a clearer explanation. This ensures you understand exactly how the triggers will behave before deploying your forms.

Conclusion

Great to see you’re still with us. It was a lot to take in, so we applaud you for reaching the end.

With all these new features and improvements, you have many options to publish your feedback form the way you want to. This will give you more control, flexibility, and precision than ever before.

Whether you’re managing large deployments with loads of forms, fine-tuning your conditions, or simply trying to make gathering feedback easier; these updates will help you get the most out of your feedback collection.
