Employee in the Spotlight: Anna von Flue

Employee in the Spotlight: Anna von Flüe

Get ready for the first Mopinion Employee in the Spotlight of 2021! As many of you already know, in this blog series we introduce the Mopinion team members to you one by one. You’ll get to see the faces behind the software and see what our fun and unique team is made of! Last month we introduced Quirijn, our new Marketing Lead. This month we sat down (virtually, of course) with Anna von Flüe, one of our newest content marketers.

Meet Anna. Anna just recently joined the Mopinion Marketing team last October as our Content Marketer for the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region. She’s been a joy to work with these past few months, despite most contact being digital due to the current circumstances. Apart from writing our German-language blog posts, however, this girl is out exploring her new residing country (the Netherlands), crocheting, taking pictures and of course, eating chocolate.

Let’s see how Anna likes working at Mopinion so far…

What does your position at Mopinion entail?

“As the DACH Content Marketer at Mopinion I am responsible for creating new content for the German blog. I also translate existing content to German, interview our DACH customers for customer stories and have some nice online interactions with my new colleagues.”

What initially drew you to Mopinion?

“My friend and former colleague from a previous role Saskia Clappers who works at Mopinion told me about the position. I thought it would be a great opportunity to start a new role in Content Marketing.”

What does a typical work day look like for you?

“So far, not a single day has been the same! I have worked a couple of days from the office in Rotterdam, another day from my kitchen (I live in Amsterdam) and today from my tiny home office. Since I only started a couple of months ago, I am still establishing new routines for my role as a content marketer. Typically I spend time working on German content on the website, researching new blog topics, writing new blog posts or translating content written by one of my fellow content marketer ladies.”

What is your favorite part about working at Mopinion?

“The new learnings I have everyday. I love a good challenge and since this is my first marketing gig, I am evolving day by day.”

What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?

“The biggest challenges I face are probably more pandemic-related at the moment, but working from home and not being able to easily connect with my colleagues in person has been a challenge for me. I am looking forward to visiting Rotterdam more often in the future!”

What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?

“Every time I publish a new blog post I feel proud!”

And now for some fun questions…

What do you like to do in your free time?

“I practice yoga. I love discovering new beaches, dunes, forests,.. Especially this past year I got to know and also appreciate the Netherlands outdoors. Wherever I go, I always have a camera with me. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager. Now I work as a freelance photographer in addition to my role at Mopinion.”

Anna tells us she also started crocheting during the first lockdown and it’s been a great new hobby for her. She creates all kinds of different tops and bras.

What is your guilty pleasure?

“Reggaeton music”, she laughs. “I’ve always loved Spanish as a language and in 2019 I took a long trip to Ecuador before the pandemic. The music reminds me of good vibes and happy moments with my sister traveling through this beautiful country.”

Who inspires you?

“My family, my partner, my friends…And my surroundings in general. Music, a good laugh or a night out with friends (Yes please, 2021.).”

What is one thing you can’t live without?

“Chocolate. Very Swiss-stereotype! It is a running joke in my family that my mom had too much chocolate milk during pregnancy so I was born as a chocolate-addict.”

I think we can think of a few others in the Mopinion office who might’ve had this happen to them too…

What is your favorite quote?

“Alles hat ein Ende nur die Wurst hat zwei.”

This is German for ‘everything has an end only the sausage has two’…

What is your biggest fear?

“I guess cows! My encounters in mountains with them are always scary…”

Where do you see yourself in five years?

“I don’t do 5-year-plans. Go with the flow and trust yourself to ‘find what is meant to find you’ is more my thing. I hope a dog will come my way in the next five years though… Just putting this out to the universe.

But on a serious note, I am really still very excited to be in my new role and become a Content Marketing pro. I hope to get to speak to many additional new DACH customers and learn how they use the Mopinion software and the customer feedback insights they got from it.”

What is something that not many people know about you?

“I know 7 languages. Of course not all of them are fluent, but I love learning new languages. In Switzerland I learned French, Italian and English in school. My mom is Swedish, so that’s a language I learned growing up from my grandparents and spending time in Sweden. German is my mother tongue and Spanish I learned last year in Ecuador. I have lived in the Netherlands for around 5 years, so my Dutch is getting there too.”
